The Jaigarh Fort is situated strategically on top of the 'Cheel ka Teela' hills in the city of Jaipur. It was built in 1726 by Sawai Jai Singh II for the protection of the Amer Fort. Referred to as 'Fort of Victory', this fort has never been defeated and is also connected to the Amer fort through subterranean passages.
Placed in the shade of trees with thick fort walls, Jaigarh has beautiful work from Vidhyadhar and is the strongest of the three forts within Jaipur. The fort is known for owning 'Jaivana', the largest ever cannon on wheels, which is set atop the fort.
