Rangji Temple

Rangji Temple is one of the top attractions in the Pushkar and is dedicated to Lord Ranga, an incarnation of Lord Vishnu. This 19th-century temple boasts a mix of Rajput, Mughal, and South Indian architectural styles. The temple features a towering gopuram and traditional Dravidian carvings, highlighting a rare South Indian influence in Rajasthan. As a prominent religious site in Pushkar, the temple houses a principal shrine called the Vaikuntha Venkatesh, and eight other temples with idols of Goddamaji, Goddess Laxmi, Lord Krishna and Shri Ramanujacharya.

History of Rangji Temple

The Rangji Temple in Pushkar was built in 1823 by Seth Puran Mal Ganeriwal, a rich merchant from Hyderabad. He was a devoted follower of Lord Vishnu and wanted to create a grand temple in Pushkar to promote Vaishnavism. The temple is still managed by South Indian priests from the Sri Vaishnava sect, who maintain its customs and rituals across generations.
